My Gleaner F was an optimistic 100bu in the 80s, the F2 was realistic 110, the F3 120. A 4 row wide head needed a wagon on both ends, spent as much time unloading as combining. Always almost made a round in some fields, as I got a bigger combine yields crept up so never got ahead.
Got a M3 a few years ago, 170bu hopper, but 6 row narrow head. Could just fit a round on maybe, then 2015 was best year ever, so back to dumping both ends..... Can't complain about record yields of course! :)
This year I found an L3 combine, not sure of the hopper size, but corn looks average at best, so shouldn't be a problem.
