: : Richard If your trees are that big that you need a 200' lead maybe you should call a timber company and sell them the logs. Then all you'll have to do is clean up the tops. Might even pay for your loader. Check out the timber report for your state to see what the going price for the type of trees that you have. Good Luck : : I have already thought about that and will make more attempts to do that since that would guarantee my neck not to be at risk if someone else is doing all of the work. Regarding the length of the lead, I was using a generic number to insure that someone didn't think I was going to use something 25 feet long and pull the tree on top of me!! The largest trees (only several of them) seem to be maybe 2 feet in diamater. By far and away most of them (90%) are in the 3 inch diamater up to maybe 12 inches. They are however towering pine trees that are maybe approaching 100 feet tall at the tips, or so it might seem since they are on a mild hill. You make a reference to a "timber report" I have never heard of something like that. Would that be in the papers, local co-op, yellow pages?? Thanks again for input. I again am new to tractors and am finding this an interesting and valuable place to lurk around and try to gleen information. Regards
