Yes, being home makes all the difference. Know a few in their 40's and 50's that have had hip replacement, my mother had both done too. It seems the parts wear faster on some people. One grew up on a dairy farm, you would think those kids always developed strong bones too. He suffered on and off until getting the procedure, personality was off a little, likely the pain involved before. Doc attributed to life time of hard work, since farm kids work since very young. Sure made difference as I recall after it was done, was glad to see it worked out well.
