so, I split my TO-20 and am in process of replacing the ring gear. I ordered a new one, so I am waiting. Meantime, here are a couple comments and a question: A guy I know split his 9N Ford some years back to replace the ring gear and he put a new clutch pad in too. Told me he was sorry he did as the newer ones are not as good as the old asbestos types. I was going to leave my old one in. Next thing: the pilot bearing is perfect. I cleaned it and re-packed w/grease. Now, for the question: The throw out bearing has a grease fitting. I plan to grease it. But, how the heck was anyone ever going to get to that thing without splitting the tractor? Owner manual doesn't mention it and there is no access.
