I wondered the same thing about Woods bone yards. I have an RM306 and RM990. I think the answer is that these mowers never die. The bearings last forever but the decks crack and the castors wear down. The castors are the expensive items. The 13" RM990 wheels are something like $200 each.
Unless you can find a used L306, get everything but the wheels from a Woods parts dealer. For the wheels try Northern Tool, they sell a solid rubber wheel from Marathon Tire.
