Looking in my JD manual for 1520 says separate at clutch housing remove rockshaft housing. remove starter safety switch from low range shifter. remove set screws from shifters to shifter shafts. of course no turn on shafts. shift left side to neutral and pull low and reverse shaft. then shift inside speed shifter shaft into gear. and pull high range shaft from trans. remove shifters from low and rev sliding gear and high and park pinion. then pull inside speed shifter shaft out of trans making sure you get all the balls and springs.temove two 1/4 balls between the speed shifter shafts at frt detent hole. pull outside speed shifter rail. then remove shifter forks from collars.
