good quality hay,silage and a good grain mix works. if he wants butterfat its an easy way but it has to be available ,delinted cottonseed.i fed it when I milked .gave about 5 pounds per head per day. its a natural feed and no snake oil bs. my vet said that's 1 feed that works. 3 weeks of feeding my fat came up a lot.i fed cottonseed for 9 years till I sold out.and seemed like every week I had a pesky salesman selling snake oil. they would try to sell so bad they would follow me around in the manure and any other place id go tryin to loose them
