Old is not worth the effort. I have had tires fail when 10 years old from cracks getting moisture into the steel/nylon/polyester, or other cord material. What you gain in usability is lost in labor/cost/and eventual failure. A cracked tire is doomed. If it is irreplaceable, and none are made, and it will be looked at not driven, OK. Jim
