Excessive amounts MAY be bad but the occasional breath of diesel exhaust won't cause cancer or else we would all be dying from it. There is no doubt that asbestos causes lung cancer and other problems. However the people that developed these problems worked with asbestos for YEARS, not just an occasional exposure. Typically we only get the fear mongering part of the story, not all the facts.
