Don't use any sealant!First:if the leak is at the mating surface between the tank and valve the "O" ring is missing,damaged or out of place.The tank surface or valve surface being warped,also a possibility.Second:if the leak is where the pintle screws in or out,remove the valve,remove the stop rivet,screw out the pintle,replace the "O"ring(make sure the interior of the valve free of debris or burrs),tap the rivet hole (10/32 as I recall)and install a screw to replace the rivet.Something else that will cause a leak is if a too long screw or bolt was used to attach the valve to the tank it will punch through the dome nut and into the tank.
