A couple weeks ago I posted about the AC on my bosses truck, strange inconsistent pressures, and intermittent cooling.
The general consensus was the orifice tube is clogged, possibly with sand from the receiver/dryer.
I took it apart today. Good news, there was no sand in the orifice tube!
Bad news, there was "something" in there, but not sure what it is or where it came from. Actually there was several things caught in the screen. There were aprox 15 to 20 little brown shards of what looked like pieces of paper. About 1/16" x 1/8", fuzzy, jagged edges. Not enough to completely block the screen though. And then there was some black powdery metallic residue, again not enough to plug the screen. And a few pin-head size chunks of steel.
So, going back with a new compressor (OMG what a place to put a compressor!!!), condenser, receiver/dryer, orifice tube, and oil.
Got a can of flush for the lines while I've got them off. I wasn't planning on flushing the evap, don't want to have to pull it out and hoping the screen caught enough that it wasn't contaminated.

The generator was shot as well as all the wiring. I dropped off the tractor expecting a transformation from a 6 volt to a 12 volt system utilizing the original generator housing, and a total rewiring of the whole tractor. The front end center pin bushing was worn also so I ask that they replace it if they had time. Well, that’s wha
