When I was living in Florida in the 80's Went to a farm to pick up some squares for sisters horses. Guy had a spear hooked to an amonia tank and would stick it in a round bale full of mold, then after a while feed it to his cows. he said it killed off the mold and made it more palatable to the cows. they shure seemed to like it they tore into it and it was still smoking or steaming.
