if its a tubeless tire and the plug is done correctly it will last the life of the tread, the bad rap for plugs comes from the 90% of young folks working in tires places who have never been trained on how to do it correctly, there is one right way and many wrong ways to install a tire plug , also many wrong tire types to install a plug in, tractor rear, and semi and bus tires being the most frequent ones
