Many years ago, I had some high school buddies whose family owned some property along the highway. There was a small path on the back side of the hill to access their pasture and there was a small ditch there that had a few large wooden bridge planks over it to drive over for pasture access. It turns out that a newly-hired cop like to hide behind that hill and back into that access path and catch speeders on weekends. He did it so often that the path became wore down. The landowner's solution to this was to pull up one of the bridge planks and to drive a few large nail through the wood, just enough to puncture a tire. After the cop had to have all four tires repaired at one time and had to call the tire repair shop to come get the three tires that the spare wouldn't cover, he got the hint and didn't park there any more.
