My American Legion used to put on a tractor pull in my home town. We needed more seating so the Legion, the community club and the town agreed to each purchase a set of bleachers. They are in the town park now. Well they came to my place to be put together in my shop delivered by truck. It took three times to get enough good ones to put them together. There was always forklift damage to the ends. I would call the place we bought them from and tell them the problem and show them pictures and they would send us new planks. I would ask what we should do with the damaged ones and they said the didn't want them back---So this was 12 years ago. They have been in my shed all this time.---Well I figured I would build me two picnic tables. I got one done. It is a 15 footer. I went to my local Menards big box store to buy frames, because it is 15 foot I needed 2. They had 11% off sale so the price was a little over $100. If you ever wonder what happens to the recycled Prince Albert tobacco cans I think the Chinese make picnic table frames out of them. It says they are HEAVY DUTY. We reinforced them where needed and changed a lot of the mounts. I am going to build a 21 footer also but I am going to build my own frames out of square tubing. Thanks- lots of pics......Tee
