Methocarbamol. Ask your Dr. for a prescription. It is Not a muscle relaxer. It is an anti spasm med. I too suffer long term lower back pain and used to have my back "go out" several times a year. Would be flat on my back, sometimes for a week or more. Spent a lot of dough at chiropractors which gave me limited relief. I can feel when I have a problem coming on and will double dose with methocarbamol for a couple of days. Fixes it! Without it I would not be working. Take it when you need it. Not expensive. No known side effects. Not addictive. Makes you ever so slightly dizzy if you stand up too fast. For me it is a miracle drug.
