I just use automotive cable on my 8N and have for years. I know some say you need big heavy cables, which are fine of course, but if everything is in good working order, clean connections, good battery, starter, and I have found the connection between starter and block clean, the smaller cables work just fine. Mine starts with 6 volt battery down to below zero, but only after I made sure everything else was in shape. It really does not take much to turn those little gas engines over. (I usually get flack over this, but works for me, and each to his own).
