I use Mobil One 4T motorcycle oil for my Triumph, and Mobil One V-Twin for my wife's Sportster. Depending on where you buy it, these oils run 9 to 13 bucks a quart. (I usually buy mine at Wally World for $10/qt.) Full-synthetic motorcycle oil is expensive.
Why so much? Well, it has a picture of a motorcycle on the front, of course!
Why not just use automotive oil? With dino oil it's not that big of a deal; there's not a lot of difference between automotive and motorcycle oil. But you can run into problems with synthetic oil in a bike with a wet clutch (which means pretty much all motorcycles besides BMW and, interestingly, some Ducatis). The friction modifiers in synthetic oils can cause clutch slip. I used automotive synthetic in my Yamaha Virago, but I wouldn't try it in the Triumph. So the oil companies leave out the modifiers in motorcycle oil and give it a JASO "MA" rating. Naturally it costs more to leave something out!
