I use CL all the time, buy, sell and give things away. All with positive results.
Instead of paying a carpet place to remove old carpet in rentals before they install new, I put a pic of carpet on CL. Say first come gets it. I'm amazed how many people say, it's better than what I have. We thank each other and both happy. Saves me hundreds.
I don't wait until my tires are totally bald before buying new ones. Tire store wants me to pay them to get rid of my tires. Free ad on CL and someone is happy to get them. Last time I got $10 for 4 Goodyear's that were 11 years old but still had 20k miles left on them.
I'll always hire someone to cut a dying trees down in the winter. Then CL to the rescue. Post a pic of tree on the ground. First come first gets it. Last tree was a huge hard maple. It took about 3 different people cutting on it before all the good firewood was gone. I even helped the last guy load the logs on his trailer with my terramite. CL saves me a lot of money and work. Easy job using landscape rake on terramite to push brush in a pile them load it on dump trailer to haul to burn pile.
