I'm not sure just which plugs or receptacles you're talking about, sorry. The big semi truck and trailer plugs and receptacles have round pins indeed. Often pickup trucks and small trailers use the light duty flat 4 (or the newer 5) receptacles and plugs, while newer pickup trucks and many RV's use the 7 blade (6 flat + round center) with round outer shell plugs and receptacles.
They make all sorts of adapters for the small flat 4 or 5 pin to the 6 pin horse trailer plugs or 7 pin RV plugs etc but fewer adapters (I have a couple) to go from semi truck to RV etc. Check with Amazon or E Bay or Adventure RV or Tractor Supply or Rural King etc.
