Hey guys.
I have posted occasionally about my Ford 4500 project. I bought this backhoe with many of the engine parts literally in five gallon pails. Kinda like putting together a jigsaw puzzle.
Well a year later I have resleeved the block, replaced the pistons, one rod, bearings,cam, lifters,oil pump, water pump, starter and ring gear. I also welded in a mounting tab on the cast iron oil pan.
I got the engine turning over, got oil pressure and fixed a couple of minor fuel leaks and bled the injector lines.
I opened the fuel cutoff and gave her about half throttle. She cranked over about ten times and started!
It is holding about 75psi oil pressure, starts easily and idles well. My wife and stepson happened to be in the shop and were cheering.
