Dutchman, here in Ontario we are pretty clear on requirments for loads. Our OPP will stop you, MTO will stop you and you will be cited for failure to secure a load,doesn't matter what, then they have a blanket called "unsafe load" which may be secure but too high or too wide. I am not opposed to this as it makes our roads safe for everyone. Bluewater Massey got it right! The other thing about being stopped by OPP or MTO is that once they have you stopped they start looking for as many infractions as they can find, so securing your load gets you under the radar!
