Both have adantages. In the market place 3 point won hands downn and is the industry stsndard. That said, 2 point is perhaps easier for attaching impliments as long as impliment and tractor are both on a flat sueface. 2 Point impliments are few and far between. Yes there are adapters to allow 2 point tractors to use 3 point equipment. They do work after a fashion, but are clumsy, and sometimes geometry is just not right. 3 Point impliments are not a standard width, and may require additional shims and work to lash up to the 2 point fixed yoke of the IH tractor. Don't think IH ever got draft sensing and control right, either. and yes, I have spent a lot of time trying to hook up 3 points when things don't line up right.
