Look it up. Safety rating "IN IT'S SIZE CLASS". What that boils is this. A tiny car like a Mini or a Smart Car with a 5 star rating wouldn't even pass the safety test rating of a full sized car.
For all you "I get 40 to a gallon" guys we can put that on your marker. No plans to get in a wreck but you can't control the other idiots on the highways.
IIRC 2 small cars colliding results in an 8 time greater chance of serious injury or death than to large car colliding. Make that small against big and it jumps up to a 10 times greater chance. The last full sized car we drove was an LTD that clocked about 25 MPG. We have been driving Suburban's now for the last 7 or 8 years. WE average about 18 on the highway but it meets our needs for trailers and hauling people.
