I wouldn't eliminate the dual power. They're generally a reliable unit that adds a lot of functionality to the tractor if you use a bit of
common sense with it.
If it's slipping... first thing I'd check is clutch pedal free travel.... then move on to checking the service pressures in the wet clutch
circuit. That can be tested by teeing into the line that supplies the dual power (running from the bottom of the main hydraulic pump). That
circuit needs to make 160-180 psi with warm oil, running at a fast idle. Check it in high and low, with the PTO on and off and with the FWD
engaged and disengaged as any of those three circuits can leak. If you find a sustained pressure loss in any of those variations, then you
have found the leak. If you have no pressure at all, the you either have a pump problem, an intake problem, a regulating valve problem or a
leak in the line or o-ring that supplies the regulating valve. Beyond that it could have a plugged intake strainer in the back half of the
pump...
As long as you didn't destroy any hard parts in the dual power, a re-plate and reseal will be a good deal cheaper than changing the front
cover and shafts of the transmission... and the DP will probably go for another 8000 hours.
There is a good chance the problem is not in the dual power at all, so do the proper diagnosis before you go taking it apart...
