The last one I got, about a month ago, it was about the third day before I got him. You need to check around because they normally have a couple holes and plug them or set your other trap there. I have never had much luck getting them to go into a live trap. Although I've got seven coons so far this year that walked into a live trap for their last ear of corn. I don't have a dog, just some wild cats. They never mess with the conibear traps. Although I don't place a high value on them as I would a family pet which we don't really have right now.
