Just because normal air is 80% nitrogen, it doesn't mean that nitrogen in your tires is a waste. It does have some merit in that it's much more stable, and when our van had tires filled with nitrogen, they never needed to be aired up over the 2 years before we put new tires on.
Now if your clean drinking water were contaminated with 15-20% cow manure, do you think you'd notice? Same thing applies. People don't think 20% is much, but in a different context, 20% is a lot.
