OK according to what I can find you have a MAP sensor. Not sure what a MAPPS is and can't find one listed for the Dakota. Nothing comes up in a parts search for MAPPS.
If it has a pulley number you can ID #5227174 if for the alternator Chrysler part # R5233472 Chrysler reman part #. But
R5233672 is the only part number Chrysler actually list as going on an 87/88 Dakota with the 3.9 from Chrysler's site which is the other alternator it could be. http://starparts.chrysler.com/starlibrary/marketing/reman/Electric.pdf That number should cross to your local parts store.
