buickanddeere, There was a time, I had about 10 junk dead riders in a shed. People would give them to me, tenants would leave them behind. They were out of sight, not yard ornaments. I would rob them for parts. Finally I sold the property, took down the shed. Gave my the bones to a guy who repaired and sold old mowers. He was happy to get rid of them. I was happy not to work to get rid of them. This was a few years ago when scrap prices tanked.
You can put more in parts to repair an old mower than you can sell them for. I have many old mowers and they are running, repaired with used parts.
