Used to be my father stayed with one insurance company most of his life. The longer he stayed with them, the lower his rates got. It seems to be just the opposite nowdays. The longer you stay with a company, the higher your rates get. Had a good insurance agency here for several years. They automatically shopped around for you every year and would notify me if they found a better deal. Never had any problems with the state notifying you that your insurance has been cancelled and if you don't show proof of insurance within X number of days we will pull your license and registration BS. Of course they sold out to another local company and all that good stuff has gone away, naturally. Am back to the usual "just another insurance company taking your money" now.
