We had a funeral visitation to go to tonight. I went out right after supper to check cattle and that big bull calf was laying in the barn chewing his cud with half a dozen cows and four calves in with him. I came in and told the wife she might have to go without me. She said she'd help me. I got the cows out of there and he didn't seem to care at all. Acted like a hooker who knew she'd make bail in two hours. "Ya,OK,I'll go,but you know I'll be out in two hours." We threw up everything we had to hinder his escape this time. Corral panels, gates chained up on top of gates, nailed up galvanized steel, parked a loader tractor in the way. We got cleaned up and went to the funeral home. He's still in there, but I wouldn't bet ten cents he will be in the morning. I said if we got him again,I'd castrate him right away, but it didn't work out that way.

I have been told a diesel holds up better than a gasoline engine as far a wear, tear, neglect and abuse. Since I am looking at older tractors that have probably been through it all, is it better to buy diesel? I do expect to have to do a good bit of work on
