The timing on this subject really hits home. I was using a torch to cut off some bearings on an old corn head that I am restoring several days ago. I was nearly finished when it seemed that my foot was getting hot. I shut off the torch lifted my glasses and I had flames up to my kneecaps from both pant legs and one shoe was on fire. Very fortunate that my wife and I had just had lunch at a local restaurant and I got a refill on a big-gulp cup of diet-coke before I left and it was within arms length to douse the flames with. When my wife sees my new shorts and ruined shoes I told her what happened and she says "What would have you done if you didn't have that coke so close?" I said that I would pretend that I was a lot younger and see how fast I could get my pants off. She did not see one bit of humor in that statement. Be careful, accidents can happen very quickly. Ended up with only one small burn spot on one knee.
