Back in my boating days, I had a 22' Cobalt cuddy cabin on a twin axle trailer. I believe the total weight was well over 5,000 lbs.
I used an 8N to move it around and to push it up the grass slope into the barn. I hitched the trailer to the ball on the front bumper to facilitate maneuvering. It was quite a push and due to insufficient tongue weight, the tractor was very light in the front. I fabricated a device to inhibit the surge brakes so as to be able to push it backwards.
The 600 brakes should hold it if they are working as designed. If worried about it holding while loading/unloading, simply shut off the engine and leave it in low gear.
