I've had very good experiences with Working Persons' Store for work boots. They have a truck that comes on site to fit safety shoes for our employees, and an amazing online catalog. They have replaced boots due to sizing issues for me, (but not after two months and inferior workmanship issues like you had).
If Echo made a composite safety boot that would be my first choice, lately I have switched to a Nautilus brand more like a tennis shoe- lighter than a full leather boot.
