I would say it is a money pit. The brakes alone could cost hundreds of dollar and those hydraulic brakes just do not stop as good as air brakes. Last fall I purchase a Ford 8000 dump truck for $1800 and it was completely road ready. I took it in for the state inspection and it passed with no issues. I have hauled several 10 ton loads of gravel with it handles the load like it was empty.
Finding a pto for the old IH might be a problem and then you have the problem of installing it and locating the controls. Give it a lot of thought before you jump in.
