You say a lot of B codes? Serial number is a December 54 built tractor if a 400. On the left side of the center housing near where the clutch and T/A shaft enter housing you should find a Z code if a 400 housing with that serial number. If not a replacement block, down near oil pan and around top or just below the frame rail about center from front to rear you should find a block casting number. Most D-264 cast numbers end in R4. Early like your serial I think would end in R3. Late 400 or some replacement blocks end with R5. R5 was used in 450D also. Most R3 and R4 blocks have a date code between oil pan and coolant side covers toward rear of injection pump and kind of behind it. If you look at the right angle you can see it. Lots of R5 blocks have the date code near rear on the same side partly behind the fuel filters. Does the tractor have 6 spoke rear wheels or 8?

I dropped off the tractor expecting a transformation from a 6 volt to a 12 volt system utilizing the original generator housing, and a total rewiring of the whole tractor. The front end center pin bushing was worn also so I ask that they replace it if they had time. Well, that’s wha
