I would be more concerned about soil temperature. The cooler the soil the poorer the germination. Some seeds will germinate while others lay in the soil dormant before germinating. You want them all poking through on the same day. Once corn is up it is pretty tough to kill with a frost unless the temp gets down to 27 for more than three hours. I have half my corn in the ground here in NWIA. It started raining yesterday and the forecast is wet so I might not be back out there for a week. When i do get back to planting i'll betcha the later planted corn will have a more even stand because of warmer soil temps.
