If you spray them right after the leaves come out, 2,4-d will do it.
After they've been in leaf for a while, Crossbow or it's generic equivalents work better.
If you wait till summer, Roundup, but then you'll kill the grass underneath too.
Glad I saw this discussion, reminds me I need to put the spot sprayer in the 8n's carryall and cruise the pastures...got so many things going on this spring chore slipped my mind.
