You'll find that a lot. A PROPERLY purchased vehicle will many times be cheaper than a very clean low mileage vehicle a year or two old because of the rebates. But so many new (and used) vehicles are sold on the basis of the monthly payment many times the buyer doesn't even know what the sales price is. We used to try to buy locally but the dealers are geared so heavily towards the monthly payment market they don't even know how to take advantage of cash and fleet discounts (if they do they are pocketing it).
