From what you say you took the pictures. if you can get nearer sometime what does the plate on the exhaust manifold say. it could be from a tractor with the rear discharge or maybe a truck. If you can go the other side where the engine joins on the transmission side of the flange, look there. if it's an original factory conversion it will be stamped with gear ratios like 7.5 or 4.3. and it should have a serial number stamped to. this should match a plate bolted to the exhaust side bulkhead looking on the engine side of it, just below where the rear of the fuel tank sits.
The petrol 4 cyl only had the number on the plate by the rear fuel tank mount. there are a few other ways to tell, but this is the real easy way I know of that would say if it's a genuine factory tractor, with maybe a replacement truck motor . Or just a tractor that was built a while ago with conversion parts, if the early history's not known. Regards Robert
