I have done a few US to Canada. If you are close enough to the border that you can meet the truck at the border you can do all your own paperwork in person. Just have the serial number, a bill of sale, and a bill of origin showing where the tractor was made (your local dealership can supply this). Make sure the tractor is CLEAN before getting to the border. You will need to pay an inspection fee and applicable state taxes. Call your nearest border crossing for more info.
If you are not close enough to the border you will have to hire a broker to do the paperwork for you. Fees are typically $200-$300. Or hire a trucking firm that works with a broker and can give you an "all in" price delivered to your door. That is the easiest way to go but also the most expensive.
