I always get Schumacher. I just bought one that is "smart". It desulfates, charges all types of batteries, and can somehow check the charging system. I just hook it to batteries and walk away. I don't believe I would have just a smart charger. Sometimes if it is bitter cold it has trouble charging batteries. It will charge for a bit and then throw a bad battery code. If I charge it a but with the old charger then it gets it charging and the new one works fine. My old one is a 2/10/50 amp. When I use it I just put it on the two amp setting and leave it a good 24 hours.
