I don't about where you live, but here in NY Mahindra has a pretty extensive dealer network and the tractors are quite popular. I would say they are starting to rival Kubota for popularity in the hobby farm/small farm sales. Can't really say as to the parts availability, but the closest Mahindra dealer has been here for years and I don't hear any complaints about him.
But as you say, if there is no dealer within reasonable driving distance, they would be a poor choice.
