I have another maple syrup question. I figured you might know the answer to this with the infinite wisdom that exists on this forum. I just had a new stainless steel maple syrup pan made. It has a threaded drain on one end. I am going to put a nipple to a ball valve then a 90 elbow to point the syrup straight down to the emptying kettle. My question is what do I use to seal the threads when it is exposed to heat? I doubt Teflon tape handles heat well. Or if I use all brass fittings, can I skip the thread sealer? I am also concerned about with chemical exposure in the syrup. Thanks for any advice.
