There was a story in the paper several years ago, think it was in Arlington Tx. People bought a house, had trouble with the drains backing up, called a plumber.
He started snaking the line to the street, couldn't get through, dug up the line... Turns out the line was never connected to the main! Stopped several feet short, obviously was forgotten, somehow just never happened.
Strange thing is the house was 20 something years old! A single man had bought it new, never complained! How is that possible?
