GE Corporation moved their airfoil manufacturing to Monterrey around 2000. They totally upgraded the manufacturing facility in New York during one decade and moved in the next. Most of the Mexican machinists that were hired had four year degrees and after a few years the product was better than that created in the US.
If you wonder why it all happened ..... it was called the NAFTA agreement and it screwed the US workers. It is all about flattening the economy across North America...... and the USA is the loser.
