Ditto what Steve@Advance said, use a long punch or drift. The only reason you should ever have to remove the fan is if the fan bearing went bad. Had to do the entire thing on my son's 06 Dodge Cummins. All of the idlers, the harmonic balancer and the air conditioning compressor had to be replaced. We made a spanner for that went over the smaller fan bolts, bought an combination wrench, but the punch was what did it. They even make a special tool for an air hammer for this very job. Don't want one and I hope to never do this again...
