Satellite Internet is a solution but not for everyone. The latency across a satellite link will make your connection appear slow, especially so coming off Verizon's terrestrial based system. The other problem with satellite is once your at your limit they throttle your connection speeds. A local Wireless Internet service provider or WISP would be your best bet as mentioned below. They cannot serve everyone cause it is a line of sight technology although that can be worked around somewhat based upon what the wisp is using for equipment. Meaning if you live in the woods or in a valley it probably won't work. Around here it's 65 a month for a 5 meg connection with no monthly limits, fast enough for streaming video from Netflix or similar.
