Mobile homes were always harder to get loans on, even new. Being from northern Indiana where most of them used to be built, most jobs were somehow related to them or other RV's. I too spent time building mobile homes at a time in the 1970's when aluminum electrical wiring was legal to use, and used widely. The problem with aluminum wiring is the receptacle contacts were brass, and they didn't mix. The aluminum expanded and contracted faster than the screws holding it to the brass contacts, backing the screws off, making poor, loose contact that generates heat. If you've ever witnessed a mobile home electrical fire, they go up quick, leave nothing behind, and often kill sleeping families. I've seen the aftermaths of plenty, some that killed. If you purchase a used mobile home, especially an older one with aluminum wiring, especially if you move it, once it's parked and set, open every single outlet and the circuit breaker panel and tighten down every contact. If its aluminum, it would be best to take them apart and check for discoloration from heat...and better yet to replace it with copper.
