Some of my most vivid memories of my Dad are him welding on the plow frame of our Doodlebug in front of our garage in a snowstorm. It wasn't just once I saw him do that, but many, many times. So what I learned about welding from him was that sometimes you just have to buckle down, lay in the cold, wet snow and get it done so you can clear the parking lot and feed the family. I think I'm probably a better welder than Dad, but I wouldn't say that to his face!
